What is your sustainability policy on this event? We wanted to choose a venue with sustainability in mind for VETstagram 2023. We really wanted this to be in person (we spent the entire pandemic running virtual events, and I absolutely know their value), so to help, we chose a date when hopefully attendees are already in Manchester for BSAVA to reduce travel. We also chose a venue that has sustainability at its centre: They reached Gold Accreditation at Greengage Ecosmart 🌱They ensure only reusable and recyclable items are used in our day delegate or any other packages we offer. 🌱Their food is responsibly sourced, local where possible, and more than 50% plant-based. Any spare food is offered to those in need. (And if you come to VETstagram, you won't go hungry because they feed you lots!) 🌱They bottle their own still and sparkling water on-site using reusable bottles, saving thousands of glass bottles per year from waste and transportation 🌱They are committed to renewable energy including using a 100% renewable electricity supplier, and are committed to the ongoing reduction of energy consumption through their renewal scheme, investing in more and more energy-efficient equipment. 🌱 They encourage the use of public transport, and are very accessible, being within 10mins of Manchester Piccadilly, 11mins from Manchester Victoria and 5mins from Piccadilly gardens tram stop. (They also have a beautiful sedum roof terrace too!) We have also asked our sponsors and suppliers to minimise single-use plastic giveaways.
-
When does registration close? We have a limited number of tickets available, so when they run out. We will likely stop ticket sales 7 days before the event so that we can prepare the venue, food, printed materials etc adequately. We will operate a waiting list.
-
What specific social media platforms will you be talking about? When talking about content creation and ideas in general, this can be applicable to all platforms. We have creators, speakers and experts that are versed in Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, blogging and more.
-
I don't know anyone else going, will I be welcome?100000% yes. You are coming to a super friendly event and I can tell you now that you will make connections and friends. If you come alone, whether an introvert or an extrovert, there will be people to chat with you. If in doubt, find an organiser and they'll help make some introductions.
-
How can I contact the organising team? You can get in touch at vetstagram@katiefordvet.com Our postal address is Introducing Events Ltd, 41 Stonebreaks Road, OLDHAM, OL4 4BZ
-
Networking scares the heck out of me, help! The word networking can get a bad rap sometimes. Let's call it connection creating instead. Once you've signed up, we'll be giving you some top tips, icebreakers and ways to get started - you got this, and we're here for you.
-
I have a small business, can I tell people about it whilst I'm there? Please do! Shout loud and proud about what you do when you chat with people and have conversations, we'd love to help platform you. Tag @vetstagram2023, @katiefordvet, @vetempowered and @introducingevents and we'd love to share as many as we can.
-
Will you provide directions to the venue? How do I get there via public transport? Is parking available?Yes, when you're registered we'll provide more specific instructions - it is in the Northern Quarter in Manchester. This venue is approximately a 20minute walk from where BSAVA Congress is at Manchester Central. The nearest train station is Manchester Piccadilly (10min walk), with Manchester Victoria also close by (11mins walk) and the nearest tram stop is Piccadilly Gardens. There is no parking at the venue. The closest disabled parking spot is on Port Street just around the corner from the venue, delegates would need an Orange or Blue Badge. We will provide the postcode for paid parking (approx £20 for the day) to those who purchase tickets. You will also find lots of Park & Ride schemes in Manchester, check them out here. Bike racking, changing rooms and showers are located on the ground floor of our Manchester location and are available for the use of studio guests. If you’re arriving by bicycle then please let us know (vetstagram@katiefordvet.com) and we will confirm arrangements with the venue for you.

Is there a hashtag for this event?Yes #vetstagram2023
-
Why is it called VETstagram? It's a term that veterinary Instagram community adopted years ago, and as this is an extension of this awesome group, we wanted to use the name moving forward for this conference. It's not just Instagram though, this is social media of all types.
-
Do you do a student discount? At the moment we sadly cannot offer discounted tickets for students, as much as we would love to. We are a small organisation taking a financial risk by running the event - we are doing this to give the community an experience primarily, and to cover our time for organising. As the time gets closer and we know numbers sold, we may be able to do this and will update this via our social media channels @vetstagram2023. This is in our roadmap for future events. Alternatively, we have a small number of opportunities to help during the day, email vetstagram@katiefordvet.com and we will add you to our list. We will contact you to confirm if we do need your help, ahead of time.
